Qubacha, Nasir al-Din

Qubacha, Nasir al-Din
(?-1227)
A slave officer of Muham-mad Ghauri (1173-1206) who was married to two of the daughters of Qutb al-Din Aibek (1206-1210). He seized Uchch and Multan on Aibek's death (1210). After Yildiz was defeated by Iltutmish at Tarain (1215), Qubacha made an unsuccessful attempt to challenge Iltutmish. Qubacha, who continued to control Sind, was forced to take shelter in the fort of Multan by Mingbarni in 1222. In 1227, Iltutmish marched into Sind for the purpose of putting down Qubacha. Pursued by Nizam al-Mulk Junaidi, he was killed near Uchch in the same year.
